Are these watch faces free?
Yes. The Galaxy Watch Faces app is free on Google Play and most of the catalogue is free to apply, with no account and no sign-up. A small premium collection needs the app’s optional subscription; those faces are labelled as premium on this site and in the app, so you always know which is which before you tap anything.
Which Galaxy Watch models can use these faces?
Every Wear OS Galaxy Watch — Galaxy Watch 4 and newer, which means the Watch 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9, the Watch FE, and the Watch Ultra and Ultra 2, including the Classic and Pro variants. What actually matters is the software: the watch has to be running Wear OS 6 (One UI 8 Watch) or newer. Samsung finished that rollout to every eligible model in December 2025, so any of these watches can get there with a free update.
Why do the faces need Wear OS 6?
Because of how they install. These are Watch Face Push installs, an interface Google added in Wear OS 6, which is what lets a phone app send a complete watch face to a paired watch over Bluetooth. Older Wear OS releases have no equivalent, so the requirement is the software version and not the model — a recent watch that has never been updated still cannot install them.
How do I check which software version my watch is on?
On the watch: Settings → About watch → Software information. If it is older than One UI 8 Watch, open the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone, go to Watch settings, then Watch software update, and install what it offers. Put the watch on the charger first — it will not start a big update on a low battery.
Will they work on a Galaxy Watch 3 or a Gear watch?
No, and that one will not change. The Galaxy Watch 3 and the older Gear series run Tizen rather than Wear OS, and Samsung never offered a Wear OS upgrade for them. It is a hardware and platform boundary, not a rollout still in progress.
Do I need a PC, a cable or a file transfer?
No. You pick a face on your phone and it transfers to the watch over Bluetooth and switches on by itself. There is no APK to sideload, no developer mode to enable, no ADB, and nothing to plug in. The watch stays on your wrist the whole time.
How long does applying a face take?
About a minute end to end, most of which is the transfer itself. The first face you apply also asks for a one-time permission that you accept on the watch; after that, applying another face is a single tap.
Does it work with an iPhone?
No. The app is Android only, because a Galaxy Watch has to be paired to an Android phone through the Galaxy Wearable app for this to work at all. There is no iPhone version and there is not going to be one.
I applied a face and it is not showing up on the watch. What now?
Almost always one of three things. The watch is on software older than One UI 8 Watch, so the install silently cannot happen; the permission prompt is still waiting on the watch screen; or the phone and watch have drifted out of Bluetooth range mid-transfer. Check the watch’s software version first, then look at the watch itself for a pending prompt, then bring the two devices together and try again.
Can I go back to my old watch face?
Yes, and nothing is lost. An applied face is added to the watch’s own face gallery alongside the ones already there, so you switch back by long-pressing the dial and choosing another. Faces you no longer want can be removed from the watch the same way.
Do these faces drain the battery?
A dial can make a measurable difference, though less than people expect. On an OLED screen a dark, sparse face lights fewer pixels than a bright, busy one, and animation costs more than a static design — so if battery life matters to you, the minimalist and dark categories are the ones to browse. The install itself changes nothing.

The app is free, there is no account, and applying a face takes about a minute. If your watch turns out to be too old for it, nothing is lost — it simply tells you.
